The Vancouver 2010 Winter Games will take place on the shared territories of the [Lil’wat](http://www.lilwat.ca), [Musqueam](http://www.musqueam.bc.ca), [Squamish](http://www.squamish.net), and [Tsleil-Waututh](http://www.burrardband.com) First Nations. These Nations are known collectively as the Four Host First Nations.
In November 2004, the Lil’wat, Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh First Nations signed a historic protocol agreement. Under it, they agreed to work together to fully participate in all aspects of the Games, while maximizing for their communities the opportunities and legacies linked to the 2010 Winter Games. This protocol was the first step in the creation of the Four Host First Nations Society.
The Four Host First Nations Society (FHFNS) represents the Nations and facilitates engagement among the Nations, the Government of Canada, and all 2010 Partners.
The FHFNS ensures that the Games are successful and that the Nations’ languages, traditions, protocols, and cultures are meaningfully acknowledged, respected, and represented.
