The church is an early work by Canadian architect Douglas Cardinal, who is best known for the Museum of Civilization in Ottawa. Built in a cookie cutter architecture filled suburb of a small prairie city, the earthy brick and natural forms provide an astonishingly graceful contrast to the bland neighbourhood. The entire structure is softly rounded, producing a sensation of the building having grown in its location, connecting the sky to the earth.
