![Roberto Chiotti](http://canadiandesignresource.ca/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/Roberto-Chiotti-.jpg)![dsc07794](http://canadiandesignresource.ca/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/dsc07794.jpg)![518216252_7151b58780](http://canadiandesignresource.ca/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/518216252_7151b58780.jpg "518216252\_7151b58780") The church is part of a shift in the role of religious architecture. This building connects the church-goers with the earth, and uses architectural devices (like form and structure) to teach theological lessons. While Catholic churches of old used paintings and sculptures, St. Gabriel’s has colorful windows that dramatically shift light during the day. “We are connecting our sacred space into the sacred space of creation,” Chiotti said. The church invites the public and connects them with nature and sunlight. [Via.](http://architecturerevived.blogspot.com)
