Colborne Lane Identity

I had the good fortune to dine at Toronto’s current culinary hit Colborne Lane this week. The experience was outstanding, a blend of chemistry (fresh ice cream made at your table with liquid nitrogen) and feel good food…made this one of the best meals I have ever had. Food wizardry aside, the overall design of the place was excellent too. Great interior (By Commute Home) and excellent identity pieces, like menus and business cards. The design is stripped back with a Victorian feel, kind of classic but without any of the frill. The colour palettes are delicious, from deep chocolate browns enhanced with punches of bold turquoise. Design is all over this place, evidence of sound thinking and excellent production (even the paper choices are top). Great mix, an excellent chef, tasty menu, subtle ambiance and nice graphic design.
