Portable Intelligent Assistive Lighting Unit
[!smartlight1.jpg](http://canadiandesignresource.ca/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/smartlight1.jpg)This seemingly simple design fills an important function, a stable, easy to use, wheelchair light. Loaded with useful features, like automatically functioning when light is low and movement is detected, a bright aesthetic that does not feel medical or over engineered, and a smart attachment idea that does not require tools to attach. Craig Alun Smith, Cocoon Director of Product Design, stated that the “client had only two requirements: design the best assisted lighting device in the world, and winning us lots of awards”, and in bagging a Design Distinction in the Annual Design Review, this humanist product seems to have fit the clients needs perfectly.
